The drenched uniform.

The heavy panting.

I trekked into the woods, with the bulky load.

It's been a while since I've been.. in the wilderness.

Memories from last year played in my mind.

We finally found our spot.

And laid down our stuff.

We waited.

Detail after detail.

I made friends with whoever I could.

The downpour started.

And we were stuck.

Unprepared.

'It could've been worst.' I said.

And he smiled, knowing I was using his own words against him.

We opened up a groundsheet and covered ourselves.

We ended up laughing at our horrible situation.

Looking at each other, talking as our bags got soaked in the growing puddles of water.

It's things like this happening that makes me appreciate the little things.

I was actually.. enjoying our little predicament.

And then it happened.

An emergency.

Things got really hectic.

I was unsure about what I could do to help.

And then I made the best decision. 

We gathered everything, and evacuated.

I trekked back down the slopes, in the rain.

Almost falling at times.

My mind was dizzy. 

I was tired.

But this guy.. needed saving.

The trails were long and mindf*cking.

We finally made it out.

At the end of everything, I heaved a big sigh of relief.

Part & parcel of this job scope.

I dozed off in the rover.

As we returned to civilisation.
