Another year has passed by.

A long, bittersweet one.

Watching the world fall apart each month.

With people dying, and lives changing.

It hasn't been easy.

But we all made it this far.

And we are still fighting on.

Some highlights from the year:

- Australia wildfires, BLM movements & riots, SG and US elections, COVID19 and the damn circuit breaker that impacted everyone.

- Changing companies at least 3-4 times. It wasn't in my control and hasn't been easy at all. In fact it may still be changing next year.

- The ups and downs of a being in a committed relationship. It is all about being honest and understanding to ourselves and each other. And I am thankful we are always working things out together.

- That maybe 'family' isn't everything after all. Especially a toxic one. Which is why I am committed to settling down with my partner in the future. Not in SG of course.

- Had a fall in the toilet, and injured my wrist. Took a while to recover. Not long after, I survived a car accident. Nobody got badly injured.. but it was quite an experience. Took me a while to get over that trauma. I still have it, but it has been getting much better over time. 

- My constant battle with my diet and weight, and my insecurities. I have started dieting and a constant gym routine for about 3 months now, and I have never felt healthier. Gonna keep this up of course.

- Not to mention the amount of new music released this year. Wow, it has been fantastic. From my idols JoJo & Hayley Williams to the amazing Olafur Arnalds that has been constantly inspiring and healing me. My ears have been blessed.

- Finished recording an acoustic version of my debut EP. Which I'll be releasing early next year. It will be more intimate and raw. Looking forward to more collaborations :)

Yeap. Pretty much sums it up.

Today I watched the fireworks from my partner's room.

It was short.

But sweet and simple.

And me feel contented with what I have.

I just want a simple, and cozy life.

And that will be my evermore.

Don't know where this surge of righteousness came from.

But it was important for me to take my stand.

Hence, the paragraph I wrote to my HR in regards to their contradicting measures.

It was unlike me, but somebody here had to voice it out.

Though to be honest, I've always felt I wasn't going to last long here anyway.

The world is huge.

Plenty of opportunities.

Why stick to a company that is stingy and doesn't value you?

A colleague of mine told me; 'One of your songs is nice, the rest just sounds flat'.

I was taken aback.

Not sure what's up with today.

One minute the sun's scorching, and the next, dark clouds are looming.

Anxiety? Monday Blues? Or am I really just sick?

Sometimes I feel like I'm feeding off other's negative energy too much.

Like.. a sponge.

I cant seem to explain it.

But it gets really toxic sometimes.

My head felt like bursting today.

A migraine and a nauseas feeling.

The last weekend of 2020.

And I spent it all with my partner. :)

Wont have it any other way.

We had a really peaceful day today.

Watched a documentary on Olafur's Island Songs.

Was so touched at how.. peaceful and simple life seems to be at Iceland.

It is definitely a place I want to visit in the future and bask in its glory.

The beautiful landscapes and weather.

Sit down and have tea.

And just.. get cozy.

Maybe.. even retire? Haha.

Had a nice encounter at Giant yesterday.

Bought more stuff than usual cause there was a lot on sale.

Including two boxes of Cornflakes.

The Malay cashier laughed and said 

'Wah, like Hari Raya!'

I laughed.

Her colleague had to go toilet and she filled in for him, even though her shift has ended.

'Its okay, pity him. Later when I go back and he's all alone, very hard to go toilet.'

I was like. Wow. You're awesome. 

She said 'Its okay. You do good to others, others will do good to you.'

What a positive attitude.

There was a queue that started to form behind me. But she just took her time. 

She paused and decided to tell me a funny incident earlier.

'Just now got a underage kid trying to buy cigarettes. I told him cannot la! You know what he told me? Ehhh can la, just don't tell anyone la' 

She gave him a piece of her mind after that.

I burst out laughing.

By this time she finished packing. But she left out my two chicken hams. She lifted a plastic bag and saw them.

'Eh this one yours right? Hahaha sorry, I'm a bit tired.'

I told her 'No problem :)'

I thanked her before I left.

That was a pleasant encounter, something you don't see everyday in Singapore.

A natural woman with a good heart and a positive attitude.

Happy 30th Birthday JOJO!! 

Aka Joanna Noelle Levesque. 

I've been streaming songs and watching interviews of her all day.

I am constantly inspired by her positive energy and growth.

I'm not sorry that I'm obsessed with her. 😌

And I know that I annoy others with posts about her. Fuuuuck that.

She's been inspiring me since I was 12 years old.

Yes, a whole friggin' 13 years agoooo.

Her constant posts about her love for music, being in the studio and the therapy it brought made me want to become a recording artist. Yes, it was all because of her!

I actually found out about her when I was in primary school, through my cousin who was a big fan of her at that time.

I think Leave Get Out was pretty popular at that period, but I was too young to connect with that.

I only started connecting with her music when I was 12. I remembered vividly coming across Too Little Too Late and thinking, woah. She is so damn beautiful and talented. She is gonna be a big star!!!!

Little did I know what was going on behind the scenes with her label. I followed her story for years, and the longing for new music grew. Especially when hundreds of songs leaked over the years.

Seeing where she is now makes me so friggin' happy.

She released 3 incarnations of Good To Know, several collabs and even a Christmas album 'December Baby' this year! Such a hard working Queen. Who freaking cares if she wasn't nominated for a Grammy.

Talent always prevails.

I'm so excited for what's to come in the future!

What a day to start my morning.

Impromptu decision to buy tickets for my Queen JoJo's Xmas Livestream.

Best decision I've ever made!

It was like a Winter Wonderland at the North Pole.

So inspiring to see her performing again.

It's always been on my wishlist to see her performing live someday. 

Though there were some issues with the sounds and lag, it made my heart full to listen to her voice soar.

Honestly, she sounds the best she's had in years.

Her vocals are on another level. Hitting all those notes.

Joined by vocal coach Stevie Mackey, Producer Lido, Powerhouse Amber Riley, I was just blown away at all their performances.

There were moments where she got emotional and thanked everyone for being there.

So excited to hear what the future holds.
